When we don’t feel safe, our stress reactions kick in. You would have heard of Fight-Flight-Freeze. These are designed as short term burst mechanisms so we can attend to impending danger. However, with COVID-19, we are getting bombarded with information that keeps us at a heightened state of stress and uncertainty. It is important that we understand what our usual stress reaction is and choose to respond in ways that are more sustainable. We are in this for the long haul – together. Not short term bursts.
